Stimulus the sequel, public option, Palin 2012??, and ....the direction of media coverage

In an interview with Fox News, President Obama said a second stimuluscould still be an option---Major Garrett sat down with the President today in Moscow.  President Obama said that he was aware that given the economic crisis recovery would prove to be difficult no matter what, but that unemployment was nearing 10% and he was not willing to take the option of a second stimulus package off the table.  Vice President Joe Biden appeared on ABC's "This Week" and said that President Obama did NOT favor a second stimulus package - now the voices on Capitol hill are weighing in.... Wendell Goler has this story for us tonight. 

    Congress is  working on a health care reform bill on Capitol Hill and President Obama is still in support of a public plan . He made that clear in a recent statement...."I am pleased by the progress we're making on health care reform and still believe, as I've said before, that one of the best ways to bring costs, provide more choices, and assure quality is a public option that will force insurance companies to compete and keep them honest."  Shannon Bream is live on the Hill with the latest progress on legislation.. and what appears to be the dwindling support for a public option in Congress.

Will Sarah Palin run for President in 2012? That's the question everyone is asking, but Gov. Palin is keeping that information to herself.  In an interview with Fox News, she would only say that she did not know what the future would bring.   Multiple ethics complaints have been brought against Governor Palin (all have been dismissed)  and she now has hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal bills.  She defends her decision to step down.   Meanwhile, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said this morning that he believes it is very unlikely that Palin will run for president in 2012 --in fact.. his specific words were quote, "not having talked to the Governor, I take 2012 off the table".   Carl Cameron joins us for the latest fallout from that comment.. and the prospects that Palin is tapping into populist support -- even while her decision and methods continue to be ridiculed by Washington insiders.

While the world watches the memorial ceremony for Michael Jackson on every network, at least 21 US military personnel have died in Iraq and Afghanistan since his death.   --Molly Henneberg has the story of one family that lost a son the same day Michael Jackson died.  The family of the fallen soldier wants to know why the coverage continues for Jackson and his elaborate service today, but there seems to be a lack of coverage on wars where US service members are fighting and dying for the country...
